personal hygiene

To make sure preschoolers have good personal hygiene

A clean child is a healthy child, teaching hygiene to a preschooler takes a lot of time and patience. Teaching the children about personal hygiene and getting them into a routine will help them take care of themselves as they get older.

The best way to get your child to understand hygiene is by teaching him/her  ways to practice from an early age. Inculcating healthy habits from a young age is important to ensure that your child remains safe and  healthy.

While teaching your child about hygiene, start with the basics and tell him/her  that why maintaining hygiene is so important in our daily lives.

Show and tell is the best strategy for teaching kids. Parents should practice  all the hygiene habits before the children as the children watch and learn.

Make a routine with your child related to brushing their teeth, make him  brush twice daily, morning and night. Ensure that your child washes their hands, before eating and after eating food provide your child with a clean wiping cloth to wipe his/her hands, Teach the child to wash their hands after going to the toilet also develop the habit of hand washing when the child touches an animal encourage the child to take bath daily

  1. Trims your child’s nails regularly
  2. Hair should be cut regularly to have a clean and tidy look.
  3. Ensure that the child uses his/her handkerchief while coughing or sneezing wear clean clothes every day
  4. Teach the child to pick up the dishes after eating and put them in the sink Explain the good and habits to the child

Kids are highly adaptable especially when they get lessons at the right age, Teach your child how to groom themselves, wear clothes properly, comb their  hair, and tie shoelaces. They will accept everything as part of their routine and will imbibe them into their daily lives.
